Led by people who have been there
Root to Rise is led by people in long-term recovery and licensed counselors. We keep names off this site on purpose: anonymity is part of how recovery stays safe, and the work matters more than who is doing it.

Mashpee & Falmouth, Massachusetts
Root to Rise is a recovery community in Mashpee and Falmouth. Coaching. Meals. Work. A clear path to the help already on the Cape — and a chair at the table while you take it.
A program of Inspiration Is Everywhere Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Someone who has been there, walking it with you.
Once a month. A table, a plate, a coach.
Packed and delivered when getting to town is too much.
Resumes, first-shift rides, employers who will take a chance.

Root to Rise walks with people in recovery on Cape Cod — offering coaching, meals, work, and a clear path to the resources that make a life possible.
Recovery on the Upper Cape is not a slogan. It is a Thursday breakfast with people who understand. It is a walk in the Mashpee woods with a coach who will not flinch. It is a packed meal on a night when cooking is too much, and a name on a job application when you thought you had used yours up.
Our storyWhat we offer

A coach walks beside you — not ahead of you, and never above you.

Turn lived experience into a skill you can offer someone else.

A hot plate, a quiet table, and a coach on site.

Nobody should have to choose between getting well and getting fed.

A job is more than a paycheck. It is a reason to get up.

The Cape has more help than most people know how to find.

Once a month
Our Recovery Breakfast is now monthly. The first one is Thursday, October 29, 2026 — time and location coming soon. Free peer recovery coaching, a hot plate, and a quiet table.
Pull up a chairNo intake at the door.
Come as you are. Eat. Talk, or don't. If you want a coach, just ask. If you want to come back next month, we will save you a seat.
How we hold it
We talk to adults like adults. Recovery is hard enough without being managed.
A breakfast table that is actually set. A coach who actually calls back. Consistency is the intervention.
The opposite of addiction is not abstinence. It is connection — in two small towns that still know each other's names.
Meals, rides, job leads, a warm introduction. Hope without a plan is just a speech.
Two towns
They are small enough that a missed breakfast is noticed. They are coastal enough that winter is long and summer is loud. Root to Rise lives in both — because recovery does not commute well, and help should not require a ferry schedule of courage.

More about us
Practice series
Resilient Recovery is our weekly practice series, built on The 7 Pillars of Resilience, for people who are tired of white-knuckling recovery — vision, composure, reasoning, tenacity, collaboration, stewardship, and a seventh day to put it back together.
One principle a day, free to use, written from inside the recovery community. It is the same work we do at the table, on the page.

We need hands at the monthly Recovery Breakfast, in the kitchen packing meals, with job mentoring (mock interviews, resume help, a ride to a first shift), and helping someone call a clinic, a pantry, or a landlord. Fill out the volunteer form — no account needed — and someone from Root to Rise will write you.
Root to Rise hosts classes and ongoing training for recovery coaches — listening, ethics, resource navigation, and how to show up without taking over. Classes are monthly and the next cohort is forming. Send us a message to ask about it.
